"The most fundamental goal within my teaching philosophy is to educate students. The etymology of the term is latin (ex-ducere) and translates into “leading someone out of him or herself.” If a person is being led out of him or herself, it means that boundaries of established mindsets start to crumble and are eventually erased. This is a healthy process, I believe, as those who do not participate on this walk are prone to dogmatism, the host for an abundance of negative isms in the past, present, and future. Among these we find nazism, fascism, racism, separatism, and many more..."

PSC-102 Introduction to World Politics | GER: HB (Empirical Study of Human Behavior)

Examination of similarities and differences between the institutions, processes and policies of selected nations, in the context of globalization and the evolution of international politics.

PSC-150 Introduction to Political Analysis |GER: HB (Empirical Study of Human Behavior)

This course introduces students to the methodology of contemporary political science, including research techniques for studying political behavior. More specifically, this course is intended to introduce students to the “science” side of Political Science.
Prerequisites: PSC-101 or PSC-102

PSC-254 Foreign Policy Leadership |GER: HB (Empirical Study of Human Behavior)

Examination of the personalities, beliefs, and cultural milieus of foreign policy leaders and how these leadership factors contribute to historical and contemporary peace and conflict processes in world politics. Also, considering leadership assessment techniques.
Prerequisite: PSC-102

PSC-258 International Organization

International organization is the ordering principle in the international system including institutions, regimes, law and norms. The goal of the organization is to govern the interactions among state and non-state actors. Challenges to these ordering principles and their effectiveness in specific cases will be studied.
Prerequisite: PSC-102

PSC-401 Capstone Seminar in Political Science

Reading, research and writing course for majors that covers a specific topic in political science.
Prerequisites: PSC-101, PSC-102, PSC-103, PSC-150

FYS-1121 Rogue States

Rouge states are considered to be outlaws in the international system. They are said to engage in the production and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the sponsoring of international terrorism. This class discusses the security threat emanating from rogue states in a post-cold war and post-9/11 world.
