PSC-101-03 Introduction to American Government (MWF 10:30-11:20AM|JHN 109)

The basic political science course focusing on American politics. Emphasis on the principles, institutions and politics of the federal government. Topics include: the U.S. Constitution, the presidency, Congress, the Supreme Court, political parties and interest groups, and the federal bureaucracy.

PSC-205-01 Public Policy & Administration (MWF 12:30-1:20PM|JHN 101)

Study of policy-making and public administration, with emphasis on such areas as energy, environment, natural resources, education, agriculture, public works, housing and national defense.
Prerequisite: PSC-101

PSC-380 Comparative Welfare States (Team)

The course examines the welfare systems in economically developed democracies, particularly in the United States and Western Europe.

PSC-322 Welfare States in America and Scandinavia (Team) | May Experience

This course examines the welfare systems in the United States and Scandinavia. Questions addressed include: What is a welfare state? Where did such states come from? What policies comprise a welfare state? What types of welfare state do we find in developed democracies? What problems face welfare states?

PSC-122 Democracy the Scandinavian Way (Team) | May Experience

A beginner's exploration of politics and policies in the United States and Scandinavia. The course includes briefings by experts and policy makers on location.
